Seoul Rental Studio and Outdoor Photo Shoots Near Changgyeonggung Palace and Naksan Park
A trip to Seoul often passes quickly. A thoughtful photo session gives you something more personal than a collection of phone snapshots: a record of the people you traveled with, the places you walked through, and the way the day actually felt.
Botong Lee Studio is a ground-floor rental studio near Hansung University Station in Seoul. Visitors can rent the space for their own photo or video work, ask about a photographer-led indoor session, or inquire about an outdoor commemorative photo shoot at locations such as Changgyeonggung Palace and Naksan Park.
English-language inquiries are welcome. You can send your preferred date, group size, location and photo ideas in English when asking about a studio rental or photographer-led session.
I have previously photographed a couple visiting Seoul at Changgyeonggung Palace and a traveling family at Naksan Park. Those sessions were not identical packages. The route, pace, light and group needs were discussed for each shoot. If you are visiting Seoul and considering either an indoor studio or an outdoor couple or family session, this guide explains what to decide before making an inquiry.

1. Choose between studio rental, a photographer-led session and an outdoor shoot
These are three different types of booking.
The first question in your inquiry should be whether you need the space only or whether you also need a photographer. This affects the schedule, equipment and preparation required.
For outdoor photography, tell us whether you want a palace atmosphere, a relaxed walk, Seoul city views or a mixture of formal and candid images. A reference image is useful when you have a particular mood in mind.

2. What the rental studio can be used for
The studio receives rental inquiries for fashion and portrait work, self-directed snapshots, short films and YouTube videos. It can also be arranged for a small reading, conversation or creative gathering.
The space has several pieces of furniture, backgrounds and props, so one session can include more than one visual mood. The current arrangement may change slightly, so ask in advance if a particular background color or prop is essential to your plan.

The same space can also be used for a photographer-led couple or family portrait session when arranged separately from a rental-only booking.

3. Natural light, studio lights and equipment
Natural light generally enters the studio well. Morning sunlight can be relatively strong, and useful light can also enter later in the afternoon. The exact direction and quality change with the season and weather.
Strobe lights, continuous lights, background paper and basic props are available with the space. You should bring the items that belong to your own shooting system:
If natural light is essential to your images, include your preferred mood and date when you inquire. For a video shoot, explain whether you plan to record dialogue or live sound.

4. Outdoor travel photos at Changgyeonggung Palace
Changgyeonggung Palace works well for travelers who want traditional Korean architecture, stone courtyards, palace gates and quieter walking moments in the same session. Compared with trying to take every photograph at one fixed point, moving through the palace allows the background and pacing to change naturally.
I have photographed a visiting couple at Changgyeonggung Palace before. For this kind of session, it helps to decide in advance whether you prefer more directed couple portraits, relaxed walking photographs or a balance of both.
Couple and family portraits can both be discussed. The photographs below come from a real family session at the palace and are included with public-use permission.

Palace hours, admission conditions, temporary restrictions and photography rules can change. Check the official Seoul tourism information for Changgyeonggung Palace before the session. The final meeting point and route should be confirmed after considering the date, weather and current site conditions.
5. Family and city-view photos at Naksan Park
Naksan Park offers a different atmosphere. Its paths follow the Seoul City Wall and open toward views of the city. It suits families and couples who prefer walking photographs, changing viewpoints and a less formal setting than a palace courtyard.
I have also photographed a traveling family at Naksan Park. Family sessions usually need a flexible pace rather than a long list of fixed poses. The ages of children, walking comfort and preferred session length should be mentioned before the route is chosen.
The sample photographs below show how the illuminated Seoul City Wall, the skyline and seasonal blossoms can work for an evening portrait. Identifiable faces have been blurred for privacy; the location, lighting and photographic composition have been kept intact.

The park includes slopes and walking paths, so comfortable shoes and light luggage are helpful. Current visitor information is available on the official Seoul tourism page for Naksan Park.

6. Can an indoor and outdoor session be discussed together?
You may ask whether an indoor studio session and an outdoor commemorative shoot can fit the same plan. Availability depends on the date, the outdoor location, travel time, weather and the type of photographs you want.
Do not assume that a standard studio rental automatically includes a photographer or an outdoor session. Explain the complete plan in your inquiry so the scope can be discussed before you book.
An outdoor-only request is also possible to discuss. If your main goal is a couple, family or individual travel record, send the preferred location first and ask what can be arranged for your date.
7. Sound, access and parking at the studio
The studio is generally quiet enough for short-film and video work. When the entrance door makes a sound, a dog on the second floor may bark briefly at first, but filming has usually continued without a problem. If clean live dialogue recording is important, finish moving people and equipment through the entrance before recording begins and mention your sound requirements in advance.
The studio is on the ground floor, so equipment can be carried in without an elevator. A vehicle can stop briefly near the entrance to unload. For longer visits, weekends or busy evening hours, Samseondong Public Parking Lot is recommended instead of leaving a car in the resident-priority parking area in front of the studio.

What to include in your inquiry
Send the following information so the request can be understood without several rounds of messages:
You may send these details in English. For an outdoor shoot, weather and current location conditions may require a schedule or route adjustment. Confirm the final meeting point before the day of the session.
Frequently asked questions
Is the camera included with a studio rental?
No. For a rental-only booking, bring your own camera, lenses and a compatible trigger. Studio lights, background paper and basic props are available, but confirm the equipment you specifically need before booking.
Can I ask Botong Lee to take the photographs?
Yes, you can make a separate photography inquiry. Studio rental and photographer-led photography are different services, so clearly state that you need a photographer.
Can couples and families request an outdoor Seoul photo shoot?
Yes, outdoor commemorative photography can be discussed. Previous sessions have included a visiting couple at Changgyeonggung Palace and a traveling family at Naksan Park. Availability and the route are confirmed for each request.
Can an individual traveler request a portrait session?
Yes, an individual outdoor portrait session can also be discussed. Share the location, preferred mood, travel schedule and any reference photographs when you inquire.
Can I book both an indoor studio and an outdoor location?
You can ask whether both can be arranged. The answer depends on the date, location, travel time, weather and the photographs you want.
Can I send my inquiry in English?
Yes. Include your preferred date and time, group size, whether you want an indoor or outdoor session, your preferred location and a reference image if you have one.
Can the studio be rented for a small gathering?
Yes. Small reading, conversation and creative gatherings can be discussed. Include the number of people, desired furniture arrangement and whether you plan to bring food or drinks.
Where can I book or ask a question?
Studio reservations and inquiries are available through SpaceCloud and the Botong Lee Studio page on Naver Map. If you need a photographer or an outdoor shoot, state that clearly in your inquiry rather than selecting a rental time without explanation.
Plan the photographs around your trip, not only around a location
The best location is not always the most famous one. Consider who is being photographed, how much walking is comfortable, what time you will arrive and whether you prefer traditional architecture, a city view or an indoor setting with controlled light.
Share those details first. They make it easier to decide whether Botong Lee Studio, Changgyeonggung Palace, Naksan Park or a combination is the right direction for your Seoul photographs.
